The Challenge: Facilitating Sensitive Public Consultation with Accurate, Responsible AI Support

The Ministry for Equality & Reforms faced the complex task of engaging the public in a sensitive consultation on the introduction of euthanasia legislation. This required providing clear, reliable information while addressing a wide range of questions on a deeply emotional and ethical topic. The Ministry needed to ensure that citizens received accurate, unbiased answers without misinformation or harmful content.

Traditional support channels were limited in scalability and responsiveness, risking delays and inconsistent communication. To foster informed public participation and trust, the Ministry sought a secure, AI-powered chatbot with robust content guardrails that could handle complex FAQs sensitively and responsibly.

Our Approach: Building an AI-Powered PMR Support Chatbot

  • Developed a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) chatbot trained on official FAQs

We developed a secure and responsible AI chatbot using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technology, specifically trained on official euthanasia FAQs. Our solution incorporated strict content guardrails to safeguard against misinformation and inappropriate responses, ensuring the chatbot handles sensitive public inquiries with empathy and neutrality. By adhering to government privacy and security regulations, the chatbot provides real-time, accurate answers that support transparent and informed public consultation. Continuous monitoring and updates maintain the chatbot’s reliability, fostering public trust throughout the euthanasia consultation process.
